Drake is a successful hip-hop artist from Toronto. That much we all know. However, is there more to this man than meets the eye? Yes. There’re many facts we don’t know about him but let’s just go over five of them for now.
1. DRAKE IS “BLEWISH”
He identifies with hip-hop culture, but he certainly wasn’t raised in one. Just like Lenny Kravitz, he is “blewish” or black and Jewish. He was raised Jewish by his mom in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in Canada. His dad moved to Memphis when he was really young and the two did not have a good relationship. Together with this mom, they lived paycheck to paycheck. It was here that he learned his lesson on quality.
2. QUALITY NUMBER ONE FOR DRAKE
After his hit album “Take Care” the rapper took almost two years to produce the next album. Is this laziness? Quite the opposite. Quality is a number one priority for the rapper and it shows. He never releases anything that’s subpar in his eyes. This has helped catapult the star to fame.
3. DRAKE HAS HIS OWN NIAGRA FALLS
In 2021, the rapper bought a huge, seven-bedroom, nin-bath, 7,5000 square foot home in Los Angeles. Besides having more bathrooms than actual rooms, this house has an insane hot tub complete with waterfalls. Who needs a trip to Niagra Falls when it’s in your house? Certainly not this guy.
4. DONALD TRUMP LOVES DRAKE
Normally, people want to stay away from Trump association but any press is good press. Apparently, the presidential hopeful loves the rapper so much, that he covered one of his songs on SNL. Okay perhaps it was more of a parody than a tribute but it was funny nonetheless. It shows that the rappers’ music transcends political boundaries.
5. DRAKE HELPS OTHERS
The rapper’s success is not limited to just him. It seems anything he touches turns to gold and that includes the songs of other artists. More and more artists seek to collaborate with the star, not just for his music genius but his kind and pleasant demeanor.
